Swissmedic, Switzerland’s pharma and medical device authority, will swap out its current methods for issuing export and manufacturing certificates for a new online system this fall. Going digital will help the authority prevent bottlenecks and free up resources that are needed to carry out more urgent processes. Swissmedic will cartificate companies with online form.
The online system will be launched on September 17 and a transition period of one month will follow. By October 18, the transition from ‘paper to paperless’ will be complete. This change will affect the following entities:
- Domestic medical device companies that need export certificates (FSCs) to sell in international markets
- Domestic medical device companies that need manufacturing certificates (attestations) to sell in international markets
